How do I create a redirect in WordPress?

Steps

arrow-icon Step 1: Log in to WordPress

Log in to your WordPress dashboard.

arrow-icon Step 2: Open the Redirection plugin

In the dashboard menu, go to Tools, then click Redirection.

arrow-icon Step 3: Copy the old URL path

In a new browser tab, find the old page you want to redirect. Copy only the part of the URL after your domain name, including the forward slash.
For example, copy:
/old-page
Do not copy the full domain.

arrow-icon Step 4: Enter the source URL

Paste the old URL path into the Source URL field. This should only contain the path, not the full domain.

Correct:
/old-page

Incorrect:
//example.com/old-page

arrow-icon Step 5: Enter the target URL

In the Target URL field, enter the new URL path.
Again, only include the path.

Example:
/new-page

arrow-icon Step 6: Save the redirect

Click Add Redirect to save.

Open a new browser tab.
Enter the old URL and check that it automatically redirects to the new page.
