Insight

Union 10 created Morgan Davies’ first bridal website design back in 2015. The 2020 updates were designed to support more content and improve navigation and filtering — while keeping the overall design style consistent.

Over the years, the client had invested significant time in writing copy and preparing imagery, with a catalogue of over 240 dresses. Re-entering that data would have been a huge task.

Because the site was built with future development in mind, making these enhancements later on was straightforward. We kept the core content and imagery intact, and delivered global improvements through smart updates to the underlying code.

Web design

Morgan Davies has two boutiques — one in London and one in Hitchin, Hertfordshire — each stocking a different range of designers. The key updates focused on making a clearer distinction between the two locations and showing which dresses are available in each store.

The refreshed site now includes dedicated pages for both boutiques, featuring interior photography and profiles of the designers they stock.

We also created separate contact pages for each location, helping improve clarity for users and supporting more targeted SEO.

User Experience

Bridal websites often need to handle large catalogues of dress pages and complex filtering, which can quickly make navigation feel overwhelming. To simplify the journey, we introduced a breadcrumb trail and enhanced the filtering — allowing users to filter dresses by Designer, Location and Style tags at the same time.

We also added more touchpoints across the site with clear calls to action, encouraging users to get in touch, book an appointment and join the Morgan Davies mailing list.

Web development

Web technology has moved on since 2015, so these updates were also a chance to improve key functionality behind the scenes.

The original site used older methods for lazy loading, image cropping and compression. We modernised this workflow to make adding imagery quicker and simpler — while improving site speed across both mobile and desktop.
