Web development agency

Web development

We build websites entirely in-house, from concept to launch. We also collaborate with designers and agencies, and regularly rebuild sites from other platforms into flexible, easy-to-manage WordPress websites.

Modern, reliable technology

Thoughtfully built WordPress websites, combining modern development, performance and long-term reliability.

We build both classic WordPress themes and modern Gutenberg-based sites, choosing the best approach for your project. For styling, we adapt our workflow to suit your needs – using Tailwind for rapid, utility-based development, or Sass/Less for fully custom, structured CSS. We also use GSAP when animation is needed, delivering smooth, high-performance motion without impacting site speed.

All development is managed through GitHub version control, ensuring clean collaboration, safe deployment workflows, and a dependable codebase you can build on in the future.

We also understand the importance of technical SEO. Every site is built with performance and Core Web Vitals in mind, giving you a fast, stable foundation. When appropriate, we implement structured data such as Schema Markup for menus, locations, recipes and more to help improve visibility and ranking in search results.

Ecommerce development

We build fast, reliable online stores using WooCommerce – a mature, stable platform with a huge ecosystem of extensions that allows us to add powerful functionality to any shop we create. From product variations and subscriptions to bookings, memberships and custom checkout flows, we can tailor your store to fit your exact needs.

For payments, we typically recommend Stripe for its ease of use, security and excellent customer experience, but we can integrate a wide range of payment gateways depending on your requirements.

We focus on clean design, smooth user journeys and strong technical foundations so your customers can browse and buy with confidence. And as your store grows, we’re here to support you with new features, optimisation and ongoing improvements to help maximise sales.

Custom development and interactive features

We also take on bespoke coding projects to help clients offer richer, more engaging user experiences. This includes building custom tools like interactive calculators that give users personalised insights – a powerful way to educate visitors and drive high-quality leads.

For larger businesses, we can develop tailored functionality such as advanced location filtering. For example, we’ve built solutions for restaurant chains with 60+ sites, helping customers quickly find the nearest branch and boosting overall conversions.

If your project needs something unique, we can design and build it from the ground up.

Third-party integrations and advanced functionality

We can extend your website with powerful third-party tools and services to enhance both user experience and business efficiency. This includes integrating restaurant booking systems, digital gift card platforms, recruitment feeds, and property feeds (XML, JSON and other formats).

Whether you need live availability, automated data syncing, or complex external services connected directly into WordPress, we ensure everything works seamlessly and reliably. If there’s a tool your business depends on, we can integrate it.

Our web development process

1

Discover and define

We start by understanding your business, audience and goals. What should the site do? Who is it for? What does success look like?

2

Structure and UX

We map your site architecture and page structure so content is easy to find and journeys are clear. This becomes the foundation for design and development.

3

Design

We create page layouts, components and visual styles that reflect your brand. Everything is designed with real content and usability in mind.

4

Development

We build a fully custom WordPress theme using industry best practices — clean, maintainable code, semantic HTML, and a flexible editor experience tailored to your content. We integrate only the plugins and third-party tools you genuinely need, keeping your site lightweight, fast, and easy to manage.

5

Easy-to-use CMS editing

We customise your CMS so adding and updating content is simple, even with limited technical experience. Each editable area includes clear instructions, helping you understand exactly what to do. We also give you enough flexibility to build engaging layouts, without overwhelming you with options or risking your site drifting off brand.

6

Testing

Your site is tested across modern browsers and devices, checking performance, accessibility, forms, tracking and key user journeys.

7

Website training and ongoing support

We provide hands-on training, so you feel fully in control of your website and its content. Our goal is to empower you to manage updates confidently without needing to come back to us for every small change — saving you time and cost. And whenever you do need help or specialist support, we’re always here to step in.

8

Launch and handover

Once we understand your needs, we’ll recommend the right hosting and take care of the full migration and launch. After your site goes live, we’re always on hand with support and advice whenever you need it – you’re never on your own.

Ask a question

Yes — every website we build is fully mobile-friendly as standard.

With around 60–65% of all web traffic coming from mobile devices, it’s essential that your site performs flawlessly on phones and tablets. We take a mobile-first approach to design, ensuring layouts, images, navigation, and content all work beautifully on smaller screens.

We also rigorously test each site across a wide range of devices and screen sizes to make sure everything looks great and functions perfectly, no matter how your visitors choose to browse

Yes — every website we build follows best-practice technical SEO standards as part of our development process.

This includes clean, well-structured code, fast loading speeds, fully responsive design, schema markup, image optimisation, and proper on-page SEO setup.

During the planning stage, we also advise you on SEO and AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) best practices, including how your content, structure, and design decisions may impact your search rankings. Our goal is to give your website the strongest possible foundation for long-term visibility and performance.

Yes — we’re a full-service agency and offer complete branding and design solutions.
We work with everyone from startups to established businesses, providing everything from brand identity and logo design to website design, brochures, vehicle wraps, and all types of business stationery.

Whether you need a full brand package or just a refresh of your existing materials, we can help you create a consistent, professional look across all your digital and printed assets.

No – a monthly maintenance plan is completely optional.
We do offer maintenance packages where we keep your WordPress core and plugins up to date, check that your website forms are sending emails correctly, ensure your Google Maps API (if used) is active, and generally monitor the overall health and performance of your website.

However, this is not mandatory. Every site we build comes with training, and we’re happy to show you how to carry out these checks yourself if you prefer to manage things in-house.  See our Hosting Maintenance services for more info.

Yes — we frequently integrate CRMs, booking systems, payment gateways, marketing tools, and custom APIs to automate processes and connect your website with other parts of your business.

Once your website is live, we’re always here to support you whenever you need us. We’ll keep you informed about new technology, updates to web standards, and important requirements such as cookie notices or accessibility improvements.

You’re not tied into any monthly retainers — although we do offer maintenance plans if you’d like ongoing technical support and monitoring. It’s all about working in the way that suits you best.

We can be completely hands-off, empowering you to manage the site yourself, or we can be more involved and guide you whenever you need help. Whether you prefer full independence or a more supported partnership, we’re here to make sure your website continues to run smoothly long after launch.

Yes — we regularly take on existing websites built by other developers.
To get started, we’ll ask for your admin login details and access to the site files. This allows us to assess how the website was built, what technologies are being used, and its overall condition.

In some cases, we discover that the underlying setup is outdated or overly complex. When that happens, it’s often more efficient and cost-effective to rebuild the website using modern, secure, and well-supported technology. This gives you improved functionality, better performance, and peace of mind knowing everything has been built properly and up to current standards.

Project timelines vary depending on complexity of the site. A simple brochure site may take 2–4 weeks, while larger custom builds or e-commerce projects can take 6–12+ weeks. We’ll provide a clear timeline after discussing your requirements.

The cost of a new website depends on the size, features, and complexity of your project. Elements such as custom design, animations, e-commerce functionality, bespoke forms, or secure login areas can all affect the overall price.

We work with a wide range of budgets and will help you maximise yours to achieve the best possible results. We can add all your content for you, or — as part of our standard training — we can show you how to add content yourself to help keep costs down.

For an accurate estimate, just get in touch with your project details and we’ll provide a clear, no-obligation quote.

Yes. Every website we build includes an intuitive content management system (CMS) that allows you to easily update text, images, and pages yourself.
We customise the CMS so editing your site is simple, even if you have limited technical experience. Each editable area includes clear labels and instructions, so you always know exactly what you’re changing.

We also structure the CMS to give you enough flexibility to create engaging layouts — without overwhelming you with unnecessary options or risking your design drifting off brand.

We empower you to make your own updates, so you’re not dependent on us (or paying agency fees) for quick text changes, image swaps, or content tweaks. You can make updates whenever you need to, giving you full control of your website day-to-day.

You’ll receive full training as standard, and we’re always here if you need help. We’re not a “launch it and leave it” agency — we offer ongoing support whenever you need it.

Working with James and Jane was an absolute pleasure. Our project involved a substantial and intricate website redesign and transfer, and the team provided excellent support at every stage. They guided us seamlessly from the initial concept notes, through the design and development phases, to the final website launch.
